They say if you love what you do, you won’t work a day in your life. So, after retiring from advertising, I decided it was time to embark on a second career. For almost half century, I have loved doing handyman work and home improvement for myself, my friends and family.
About twenty years ago, my wife and I bought a fixer-upper in south Florida. We started by moving some walls around, installed a designer kitchen and new bathrooms, laid hardwood floor, put in new high tech track lighting and fans throughout, stained and installed solid wood interior doors, designed and installed custom window sills and columns, custom built closets, installed crown molding and painted throughout the entire house.
If you are wondering why a nice Jewish boy became an outstanding craftsman who could fix just about anything, the story began almost 125 years ago when my grandfather, Bill, attended the McCall School and was a member of the first troop of Jewish Boy Scouts in America. Not a bad way to learn the skills and values to become a master Handyman.
